ESP8266 or ESP32 for automotive use

Hi I need to know if ESP8266 or ESP32 can be reliably be used in automotive designs. Along higher temperatures than domestic environment ( up to 90 ºC at direct sunlight ), it should resist physical shocks, vibrations and noisy RFI ( Radio Frequency Interference). Is there anyone that had previous e...

ESP-MESH security questions

Hi In user_configure.h we have defined MESH_AUTH (AUTH_WPA2_PSK) and MESH_PASSWORD (123123123), that is used in espconn_mesh_encrypt_init(). I understand that, after doing this, all transactions (header+payload) between nodes and root, are encrypted. So, if a device that doesn't have the same MESH_P...

ESP8266 Nonos SDK V2.1.0 with MBEDTLS

Hi I am looking for AES-128 encryption for ESP8266 Nonos SDK and googling a lot abroad, I found a link: https://github.com/espressif/ESP8266_NONOS_SDK This SDK is V2.1.0 version and includes MBEDTLS. My question is: is this SDK the actual one adequate to develop AES-128 encryption solutions? Second ...

MESH with AES-128 encryption

Hi
I need to encrypt/decrypt the payload of MESH messages with AES-128.
My MESH is already running with 12 active nodes, based in a mix of ESP-12F, ESP-07 and ESP-01S nodes.
Somebody has a working example with AES-128 encryption?
Thanks.

Re: ESP8266 RTOS FOTA boot.bin needed

Hi ESP_Xutao

Thank you for your message.

But my problem is that I can't get boot.bin compiled from the source in example rtos_upgrade_demo.zip.

What I need to know is if boot.bin is available pre-compiled or it must be compiled from specific source.

Thank you.

ESP8266 RTOS FOTA boot.bin needed

Hi I am trying to compile rtos_upgrade_demo example [http://bbs.espressif.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=865&p=2950&hilit=RTOS+FOTA#p2950], but, I get user1.4096.new.4.bin or user2.4096.new.4.bin files, but not boot.bin. It is the first time that I try to use FOTA in my project, so no previous ...

Does ESP-07 have I2C hardware?

Hi I need to know if ESP-07 does have I2C hardware available. Googling a lot, what I could find is that ESP8266 does NOT have I2C hardware at all, but, may be ESP8266EX have. And, as far I know, the ESP-07 does have ESP8266EX internally. Somebody can confirm these information, please? Thanks, Sergio

Free-to-use user area in flash in ESP-12E

Hi I need to store some configuration data in the external flash of an ESP-12E ( 4 Mbytes of flash ). I am understanding that the user area in flash begins at 0x3FE000 ( ESP8266 RTOS SDK Getting Started Guide, page 16 ), where blank.bin is flashed. But, dumping the first 256 bytes of 0x3FE000, I can...

Re: ESP8266 RTOS SDK version 1.4.0 "how to get data from UART0?"

Hi Pratik Thanks you for your directions. I solved my problem, without using interrupt: if( (READ_PERI_REG(UART_STATUS(0))>>UART_RXFIFO_CNT_S) & UART_RXFIFO_CNT ) { data = READ_PERI_REG(UART_FIFO(0) ); } As my console is a thread and the data flux is low ( few console commands ), polling method ...
