Re: Linking eagle.app.v6.new.1024.app1/2.ld to Wemos D1 Min

You are using the boot.bin along with user1 and user2 I guess, right? In that case you should follow the Getting Started Guide for determining where you want to put your code at. http://www.espressif.com/sites/default/files/documentation/2a-esp8266-sdk_getting_started_guide_en.pdf boot.bin = 0x0000...

Linking eagle.app.v6.new.1024.app1/2.ld to Wemos D1 Min

Hi everyone! I finally finally FINALLY got my FOTA to work with espressif's SDK bootloader. My question is that the Wemos D1 Mini has 16M bytes(128Mbit) of memory. So if I'm correct I need to get a modified version of the Eagle file to support the new found flash space is that correct? If so can any...

Re: FOTA example with custom Server

In OpenSDK, you can check out the makefile of projects like libesphttpd. That's a great example, and generates user1 and user2, both. In Lubuntu environment, you can use the gen_misc.sh script to generate exactly the file that you need. Thanks Pratik! Ill jump into that this week and see if I can f...

Re: FOTA example with custom Server

Not that, I was refering to firmware version number. You can also follow a nomenclature that helps determine version on server and if it is different from current firmware running on your ESP, such as user_x.bin Thanks Pratik! When I say Version=2 it seems that it does something within the makefile...

Re: FOTA example with custom Server

Yes, without the version information, there is no way of knowing whether to update or not. However, it all depends on your update server implementation. Thank you Pratik for responding to this. I am not sure we are talking about the same "version". I am the latest NONOS SDK with open-esp-...

Re: FOTA example with custom Server

I can summarize the FOTA process for you. The FOTA flash map specifies 2 copies of the firmware that can be executed. The boot.bin is responsible for deciding, at the time of booting, which copy of firmware will run. The info on which copy of firmware, user1.bin or user2.bin is latest and good is s...

Re: FOTA Upgrade

Thanks, After reviewing page 20, What would the Memos D1 Pro fall under. Isn't that way larger then a 4096? It seem's its 16MB instead of 4? Do you know where a valid makefile / commands are located that I can use to pump out the UserBin's or is my only option to use whats in the IOT demo?? Thanks f...
