HW production

I am looking for a partner or subcontractor to produce
ESP8266-based HW for a home monitoring / automation product.
HW itself is low cost, low complexity, on a single PCB, made
from of-the-shelf components.

If you are interested, post a message and I will provide you with
further information.

Re: random WDT resets in SDK driver

I do not use hardware interrupts, therefore,
CPU is occupied for a long time somewhere

means somewhere in wDev_ProcessFiq or related SDK calls.

I strongly suspect a bug.
Please, INVESTIGATE.

Re: (RTOS_SDK) mbedtls_ssl_write low memory issue

Pratik, here are few clarifying notes - In order to avoid memory leaks, I no longer use secure layer. - Problem: TCP stack in SDK is unstable by itself - it fails to open new connections after a number of previous disconnects on WLAN level (this was previously reported by others). - Hypothesis: this...

Re: opening source code

- mbedTLS is no longer relevant, because I do not use secure connection to avoid memory leaks. - Even without the secure layer, TCP connectivity is unstable and issues seem to hide deeper in the TCP stack. - For example, SDK fails to initiate new TCP connection after number of previous disconnects o...

opening source code

To the SDK developers It looks to me that the SDK evolution is too slow . After few years of releases it is still plagued with issues that sometimes takes forever to fix. The current state of SDK also causes futile arguments of whether it is broken, and where it is broken, and how to reproduce and w...

Re: (RTOS_SDK) mbedtls_ssl_write low memory issue

You will get a reboot if there is an issue, always. in the order of importance: 1. in this particular case, the system freezes, but does not reboot, simply because it is running an internal loop that resets WD timer. 2. the system should never reboot unless the error is fatal. A "fatal error&q...

Re: (RTOS_SDK) mbedtls_ssl_write low memory issue

Note that no silent action is ever taken up by SDK. I dare to disagree with this statement, because I personally encountered these in non-RTOS library. Endless loops while waiting for resources is a doubtful practice. Such loops should be interrupted and error generated. Apart from hiding such inte...

Re: (RTOS_SDK) mbedtls_ssl_write low memory issue

Without enough memory, you can do nothing. Running an infinite loop and waiting gives developers no clue to what is wrong and how to resolve the issue. In case of low memory, you can return an error code or message indicating this explicitly. Silent default behavior will poison everything and shoul...

Re: memory leak in secure connection

Dashaduamp, I did not say that it ever stopped.
I also not sure how 19Mb or v4.9 matters.
Care to clarify?

You may also want to look into this recent thread:

Alltogether, these findings point to possible memory leak(s) in SDK TCP stack.

random WDT resets in SDK driver

Hello
I am getting random resets due to HW watchdog timeouts.

According to system_get_rst_info(),
reason=1 (HW WDT), cause=4 (?), and
register epc1 points to wDev_ProcessFiq.
Other register values are zeros.

Can anyone tell what this means?
Or found a workaround?

Thanks
