Re: GPIO0 and GPIO2 flashing / gpio_init() mystery

The gpio_init() is not required anyway, you can skip it. And you are getting the flashes because GPIO0 outputs 40 MHz clock signal when the ESP8266 is booting. So you may have a dimly lit LED on boot. The initial state of GPIO after booting can be set by the bootloader or "boot.bin". You c...

Re: I2C LCD1602 NONOS SDK

The Device is just an IO expander (look at the chip part number). So you just have to implement the same stuff that 4 bit parallel does. But you have to use I2C to send the 4 bit states. And PCF8574 library for nonOS SDK will work just fine. Not sure there is one that works with the LCD. But should ...

Re: Nonos SDK based HTTP server

The Open SDK is the same as Espressif nonOS SDK. Just that it compiles in any Linux environment.
You can still use esphttpd in Lubuntu development environment. But it cannot serve files are there is no ESPFS implementation.
But you can use SPIFFS + esphttpd in Lubuntu. SHould work fine.

Re: Is 55C~60C a safe operating temperature?

Ohh no, no problems at these temperatures. It is recommended to have a large ground plane for allowing dissipation. Also, please use a low CPU frequency of 80MHz and sleep modes when idle. But why are you getting such high temperature? It may be a hardware design issue, I can stream data 24/7 at 8 m...

Re: Store Smart Config ssid and password in WiFi NVS structure

Oops, you should be posting ESP32 questions on esp32.com

And as for the question, I tried to use WIFI_STORAGE_FLASH and store WiFi credentials to flash but that does not seem to be working for some reason. At least not reliably. I am using a custom WiFi event handler and not the IDF default one.

CTS and RTS are pins 12 and 13 respectively. Pin 15?

Re: at+ commands respond with error

The firmware is REALLY REALLY outdated. You need to have at least v.1.5.4, which is stable. Please check out the latest firmware at
https://github.com/espressif/ESP8266_NONOS_SDK/bin
To flash the firmware to ESP8266, you will find many tutorials online.

Re: ESP8266 NodeMCU v1.0: no response on USB-serial connection

You should probably update the firmware on ESP8266 module that you are using.
Also, please use a 3.3V USB-UART converter. 5V can damage the ESP8266!
