Hi,

probably it is too late for this reply, but anyway... I'm pretty sure that the newer version of the FW is communicating with 115.200 baud on the UART channel instead of the previous 9.600 baud.

So if you switch between these versions, you have to switch the baudrate of your terminal software accordingly. If not, you will see "random characters" as you describe.

You can write bin into flash using flash_download_tool.exe via uart.

eagle.flash.bin:0x00000
eagle.irom0text.bin:0x40000
blank.bin : 0x3e000& 0x7e000
esp_init_data_default.bin (optional): 0x7c000

yes is 4 mega flash (25Q40BV). non boot mode is over wifi? because i dont have wifi router, all i can is usb/cp2102 to ESP http://www.banggood.com/ESP8266-Remote-Serial-Port-WIFI-Transceiver-Wireless-Module-p-947259.html, and i need the correct address for each bin.

If your flash size is 4Mbit,please upload using NON-BOOT MODE bin(refered to esp_iot_sdk_v1.4.0\bin\at\readme.txt):

soooo, after 2 days i finally manage to upload (i think) maybe is a problem with bins or i did something wrong the problem is when i try to set a AT command or restart the module. after i reset the module i cant send any AT command, when i press reset buton on module i get that chars no mather what i do, power down, back, reset etc, i use a cp2102 module and 1117 3.3/1A LDO to power the ESP. so i do up the bins again and get the AT, AT+GMR work, if i reset.... random chars and esp not respond. ohh and i put a old version boot_v1.1 seems to work, but is old one

The AT firmware：Vendor:www.ai-thinker.com Version:0.9.2.4 AT+GMR0018000902-AI03 is not provided from our company, but from the module company AiThinker.

You can download the Espressif official AT firmware AT_v0.50 from BBS http://bbs.espressif.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1123.

Espressif official Flash download tool.

If your problem is still unsolved, please provide the capture picture of Flash download tool while downloading.

well after i finaly find how to update, the esp dont respond, i get random character when i reset

hello im new with esp8266 and i wish to know some things about that module, command etc. i intend to use 2 esp module and 2 arduino board for rc (boat, car, home automatics), in the future i wish to use 07 module, for now i use the 01 module for testing and accommodation about how is working
(version of my esp01: Vendor:www.ai-thinker.com Version:0.9.2.4 AT+GMR0018000902-AI03)

1. esp8266 can be set as invisible/hide ssid? if so, what is the AT command?
2. esp8266 can be set to work only in mode 802.11n? in mode N have lot of RF power (Transmit 802.11b, CCK 1Mbps, POUT=+19.5dBm)
3. the AT+RFPOWER , AT+RFVDD and AT+RESTORE command i get error response. i did AT+RFPOWER=50, get error.... how i set ESP to work in full Tx power mode?
4. is the last firmware? Vendor:www.ai-thinker.com Version:0.9.2.4 AT+GMR 0018000902-AI03
5. LOVE THIS, i put esp near window for scan ssid and i get [img]THIS[/img]
