I was able to gat AT commands back for firmware v2.0 by following the steps on this webpage,

https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/projec ... asier-now/

Now that I understand the esp-01 a little better I realiz that loosing the at commands is normal when installing your custom program. My ignorance on the esp-01 led me to believe I had broken my device. Lol.

I've been trying to figure out how the ESP8266 ESP-01 works. I've been at this for a couple of days and for the first time was able to use my Arduino Nano as a USB hub to connect to my ESP8266 and use AT+ commands. Everything seemed to be fine, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I decided to upload the example "blink" sketch that the Arudino IDE has available. I uploaded the "Blink" sketch while the ESP8266 was in flash mode (GPIOo pulled down to ground). The blink sketch uploaded just fine. Now when I restart my ESP8266 the blue led flashes indefinitely. However, It looks like I have lost the use of AT+ commands. I've found videos on YOUTUBE where people had the same problem, but I cant find anywhere how to correct it. I have attempted to update the firmware, but all the tools I use no longer detect the ESP8266. It looks like my initial success with this device was immediately followed by its ultimate failure by my hands. I'm about to trash it, but if anyone know how to correct this please let me know. thank you.

Originally this was running,
AT version:1.3.0.0(Jul 14 2016 18:54:01)
SDK version:2.0.0(5a875ba)
Farylink Technology Co., Ltd. v1.0.0.2

Thank you all for any help you can provide. :D
