from what i understood so far, a mesh-node in SOFTAP-mode will always act as a root-node and thus establish a new network instead of joining an already existing one. I'm currently trying to figure out, how to let a node join an existing network without having to connect to a server (just to relay the WiFi-range) as well, but I haven't come up with an answer myself yet... Let me know, if you happen to succeed :-)

Greetings,

Lukas

I am testing the mesh demo and I have the following test scenario:

1 ESP8266 using MESH_ONLINE connected to my AP and a server running demo_server.py
1 ESP8266 using MESH_ONLINE connected to the MESH_DEMO_XXX SSID created by the fist module
1 ESP8266 using MESH_SOFTAP which I am trying to connect to the mesh network but it creates another network

After reading many posts on forums is not clear to me if it is posible, Can anyone help me??
