For WPA2-Enterprise to work on the esp8266, supplicant code is needed. The Espressif SDK has supplicant code starting from version 1.5.x, but only EAP-TLS is supported in that version (requiring the use of X.509 certificates for both server and user authentication).

Starting from version 2.0.0 of the SDK there are are new API functions that also support PEAP and EAP-TTLS, meaning that users can also authenticatie with a username and a password. However, there stills seems to be an issue with user authentication. See also:

I also would like to see PEAP support - from the reading I've been doing over the last few days I don't think it is currently possible.

I saw release 1.5.1 already have support for wpa/wpa2 enterprise security. But I couldn't find any information on how to setup. I am trying to setup ESP8266 STA mode authenticate to PEAP MSCHAPV2 AP ??

Has anyone tried to make it work ??

Hi

Has anyone managed to connected ESP8266 with EAP
authentication method - PEAP ? I see in the ESP8266EX datasheet (by EspressIf Systems), in section 9.1

9.1 Features
Open Interface for various upper layer authentication schemes over EAP such as
TLS, PEAP, LEAP, SIM, AKA, or customer specific;

But I could not find any relevant API.

Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
