I'm part of a group that is building something that requires a wifi connection that communicates with the Arduino MEGA. For right now, I just want to get the esp to respond to AT commands. I have tried using Putty and Realterm, but I don't know if I am using it correctly. I was following some instructions from a user on the arduino forums that stated just opening the serial monitor and sending AT+GMR should return the firmware version. We get no responses, though.

When we flashed the esp8266 Huzzah, it stated it was successfully flashed. We used a FTDI console cable to flash the esp8266 huzzah, by the way.
