Re: how to change esp8266 host name

thanks.
I think it will be a very good idea to add that feature to AT command set.

how to change esp8266 host name

after AT+CWJAP and esp9266 is connected to wifi router, the esp8266 is registered to the router with host name ESPxxxx. Is there a way to change the esp8266 host name?

Re: AT 0.60 - how to use AT+WPS and AT+MDNS ?

Does AT+MDNS make the esp8266 an mdns responder?
Can you please clarify exactly what is
mdns host name
mdns server name
mdns server port

do I give the esp8266 any name as mdns host name?

is mdns server a bonjour server? so mdns server would be the mac osx ip address and port is 5353?

Thanks.

Re: how to abort a CIPSENDBUF

you are right, I just tested this just now on 1.4 and it does abort. I also just verified and confirmed this only works in 1.4. It does not work in 1.3. For a long time since I posted this thread and emailed espressif about this and asked for an enhancement for ability to switch back to command mode...

Re: how to abort a CIPSENDBUF

Nothing works.
As it is now, the only way to get back to command mode is to do a hard reset, or to keep writing dummy data until esp8266 gets what it thinks is the amount of bytes it needs to receive. Not a good design by anyone's standards, so definitely room for product improvement.

how to abort a CIPSENDBUF

If say I send a CIPSENDBUF=0,2048 then I decide I don't want to send after all. How do I abort the CIPSENDBUF command? Is there a character sequence that will "escape" from "data" mode into "command" mode? There seems to be nothing else I can do until I send 2048 charac...

[Resolved]cannot access ESP-01 anymore after setting AT+UART

My ESP-01 has been working fine, until I tried to set the baudrate to 230400 and now it is completely inaccessible. Even if I reupload the firmware, I still cannot access it. And after uploading firmware, the blue LED is just always ON. Any ideas how to get this to work again?

Thanks.
