Re: beacon handle.

A quick review of what I've done. It's not much but maybe it's a starting point. My goal was to discover the signature of this function reported in the symbols : ppTxPkt . It appears to me to be the central point for all packets sent over the air, regardless of ap association. Would be a key piece f...

Re: Packet injection

At least give us a function to output an arbitrary packet into the network.
ppTxPkt, that's what we need to attach to.
You already gave us promiscuous mode, we just need to send the packets back :)

Re: Packet injection

Espressif,

I see you've used the FreeBSD 802.11 base code.
I've managed to send arbitrary probe requets by reverse engineering some of the rom functions.
Could you please open source that code for us? :)

Re: beacon handle.

I believe it is
I'm working on reverse engineer the ESP libraries to gain access to wifi functions not exposed in the SDK.
I will let you know if I get any result.

Re: beacon handle.

But what if we work with only probe requests and responses?
We would be still 802.11 compliant and could broadcast data multi-to-multi node. That's what I'm talking.
A protocol would need to be written on top of it but could work, no association required.

Re: Packet injection

There's already a promiscous cb to read raw packets from 802.11. They just need to provide a function for sending raw packets. The community will do all the rest.
Another advice, please open source your LwIP implementation again, let the community work on that.
