Re: ESP8266 Download Tool V3.6.2.2

Which OS are you running on the PC? And you should try a different Download Tool version. It seems like an issue on the PC side rather than hardware side.

Re: RTOS non-maskale interrupt

You should be able to simply copy-paste the header file macro and it should work just fine in RTOS SDK as well, because the timer hardware is the same.
But don't mess with the FreeRTOS tick timer. Use the other timer, and you should be good.

Re: how to make sure GPIOs remain at a given state even during reset of the ESP8266

The default GPIO states are set in the boot code. You will need to request the specific BIN files from Espressif if you want a default pin state other than what you have right now.

Re: NONOS: Raw Ethernet Frame

You have to send a raw packet using packet freedom APIs, but note thatthe SDK blocks out any management frames if I recall correctly. Just to make sure you don't intentionally do something unethical with nearby WiFi networks. So if you really want a lot of freedom, you will have to switch to really ...

Re: Adapting esphttpd HTML example to RTOS SDK

Are you using the right routines? The esphttpd has implementations for both nonOS and RTOS SDK, so you need to specify which setup you are using otherwise things don't go too well.

Re: What IDE do you use when programming ESP?

You can use the Lubuntu image provided by Espressif (Linux). I installed Atom or Visual Studio Code for my coding. Helps to have good code prediction!
Other than that you can set up VS Community Edition in Windows + SysProgs ESP8266 toolchain. That works pretty well too.

Re: Send data to URL using AT command

You should check the AT commands example document on Espressif site. That would be a good place to start.

That's some cool information, I'd have to request permission to include all this in a guest post on my website. :D

Re: NRF24L01 NONOS SDK

I haven't worked with this particular chip, but I'm sure you'd figure it out, huge community support for the nRF chip! :)
The bigger problem is always the ESP8266 HSPI interface, which is not too well documented. And then RF board layout stuff.
