Integrated power supply controller.

In order to reduce chip count in high volume applications, consider integrating a power supply controller. In my case I need a hot ground power supply. The common chip for doing this is a Power Integrations LNK302 or LNK304. Datasheet: http://ac-dc.power.com/design-support/product-documents/data-she...

Two 12-bit ADC with PGA

At least two 12-bit ADC channels with a programmable amplifier (PGA) in front of them. Check out the datasheet for the Atmel 90E21. http://www.atmel.com/Images/Atmel-Meter-ATM90E21-22-23-24-Datasheet-Eng_0402.pdf These two ADC channels can be used for any purpose, but my specific use is for power co...

Re: Current spikes during chip boot

The application works like this: 1) push the button 2) pushing button starts the power supply 3) ESP boots (this is where the problem is) 4) ESP sends message 5) ESP uses GPIO to turn itself off This allows the chip to last for about 2000 button pushes spread out over up to five years on a coin cell...

Current spikes during chip boot

When the ESP8266 boots we are seeing current spikes up to 300mA. We think this is when the chip calibrates the RF circuity. Is there anyway to reduce those spikes so that boot current stays under the 30mA pulse output of coin cells? The application here is to clone the Amazon Product Ordering button...

Re: 32Khz crystal

I am assuming this is done to reduce power consumption during deep sleep. Is that correct?

Has any work been done with running the ESP8266 on a battery?

Re: 32Khz crystal

8.4.3 Real Time Clock IO (EXT_LFC) If a 32.768 kHz LFC clock is available, it can be connected to EXT_LFC. If no clock is available on this pin, the internal LFC will be used. If an EXT_LFC is available, the selection of LFC source, internal LFC or EXT_LFC can be done by a strapping pin. --- There i...

32Khz crystal

The datasheet mentions using a 32Khz crystal, but no example is given of how to hook it up. Is this supported? How does it work?
