Hi ! Got a batch of ESP-WROOM-02 modules through production that we thought were 2MB. Reel markings are: Product Name: ESP-WROOM-02 Manufacturer PN: 04.09.0000740 Supplier PN: M021X0132R0E LOT No.: 201812-066 Manufacture Date: 2018-03-21 However, esptool.py flash_id command reports the flash as 4MB,...

Re: EN pulse output at 10Hz

Using standard formula: C = Q / U = (I x Δt) / ΔU C = capacitance (Farad) Δt = discharge time (here: 1000μs) Q = charge ΔU = voltage change (here: max. 100mV) I = current (here: 0.3A) This assumes the capacitor should handle a pulse up to 300mA for 1ms, whilst not allowing V to droop more than 100mV...

Re: EN pulse output at 10Hz

Thank you for the help- That sounds like it. What is the expected current requirement for ESP module when transmitting the beacon? If you have a figure for current and duration , then I could calculate a suitable capacitor to handle the ripple. Let me see... I have these data from the datasheet: Vol...

EN pulse output at 10Hz

Hello! The attached screenshot shows a pulse that seems to be generated from the ESP-WROOM-02 "EN" pin. The pulse width is 1ms, and it repeats every 100ms. In the region of 300-400mV. Is there any chance the ESP module is causing this pulse? I have isolated the power supply (3.3V), and als...

Washing ESP-WROOM-02

Anyone washing esp-wroom-02 modules after production ?
The xtal datasheet claims it's hermetically sealed. What about the tin can? Tolerant or eager to rust?

Any official or community advice ?

Thanks!

Double reflow of ESP-WROOM-02

Can the ESP-WROOM-02 module be sent through reflow oven twice ?

We would like to reflow ESP-WROOM-02 module on pcb top, then flip over pcb and reflow again for bottom side parts.

Any concerns?

Thank you.

Re: ESP8288EX - current when IO0 is low

To add that the datasheet does state, holding IO0 low at power-up will start the module in UART programming mode (instead of loading/running the firmware in flash). So... in the "UART programming mode", 1) is the radio disabled ? 2) what is the maximum current consumed by the module ? 3) h...

ESP8288EX - current when IO0 is low

A question about power consumption of the module please. The datasheet shows various sleep mode mA ratings, such as typical 15mA in Modem-Sleep mode. I want to program the firmware of the ESP module using a dongle that than only source 30mA current on the 3.3V rail. Does pulling IO0 low for programm...

Re: EN pin pulse low-period

Thank you for confirming. May I ask if you have a timing diagram available for the EN pin? Or at least do you have the minimum and maximum time for the low period? If possible, I would like to use a time period which is not so close to the min or max boundary. My concern is that if 100uS is close to...

EN pin pulse low-period

Hi, When using the ESP8266EX EN pin to reset the module, what is the expected length of the low period? And what is the voltage level low and high boundary for that pin? I discovered by random experiment that a 20uS low pulse is too fast, but about 100uS works. And I'm assuming low is <0.8V for EN ?...
