Re: Only receiving messages from MQTTSubscribe when next MQTTPublish is happening

Anyone having a suggestion on this? I looked in there SDK, and to me, when looking at the function cycle() in the MQTTCLient.c file, it feels like there are only processing delivered MQTT messages when the switch case PUBLISH happens... Which would validate the behaviour I am observing here. Am I ri...

Only receiving messages from MQTTSubscribe when next MQTTPublish is happening

Hi, I am using an MQTT connection to communicate with my Cloud. Everything works pretty well I would say, except for the messages coming from the Cloud to my ESP. After I connect successfully to the Cloud with MQTT, I do a MQTTSubscribe (where I pass my message handler for incoming messages from the...

Need help with spi_master_trans()

Hi, I am working with the ESP8266_RTOS_SDK v3.1 and using the HSPI to communicate between the ESP8266 and another chip on my board (it's an NXP chip that is using EDMA). I am using my ESP as the master for SPI transfer, and I am trying to send a buffer tx containing 64 bytes and receive at the same ...

MQTT keep alive dies when not publishing

Hi, I am facing an issue with my MQTT connection where my Google Cloud tells me that there is no more connection with my device because there was no keep alive when I don't publish anything for a while... Also, after I subscribed successfully to my config, the config is only sent down to my device i...

Re: How to do a secure OTA?

Thanks for the help Agent! At that point, I am still trying to resolve my issue. I am trying to create a secure connection following the example in Openssl_Client, but so far I have not been able to connect successfully to my google cloud bucket... One of the first issues I am bumping into is that a...

Re: How to do a secure OTA?

Anyone?? I have looked at the example of ota https for the ESP32, but it doesn't seem easy to port over to the ESP8266 RTOS SDK because there are lots and lots of differences between the 2 SDKs... I wish Espressif had implemented a HTTPS for ota on the ESP8266..... Anyone has done it before though??

How to add cURL library to ESP8266_RTOS_SDK project?

Hi,

I would like to use the curl api, but I don't know how to add the library to my project so it doesn't complain when I include the header files of that library to my project.
Does anyone know how to add a third party library to an ESP8266_RTOS_SDK project properly?

Thanks

How to do a secure OTA?

Hi, ESP example in their SDK shows an OTA example working with a simple HTTP local server and a GET request example. I would like to implement a process that is more secure (HTTPS, or else?). I am working with Google Cloud as my IoT solution to store my firmware bin images. Does anyone have a way of...

Re: Problem with OTA example

Thanks for your reply AgentSmithers! I was actually just able to figure out what was going on. Turned out that the OTA example provided by ESP works just fine. The issue was coming from the fact that the flash we were using wasn't 4MBytes but 4Mbits... The chip had been selected before I started wor...
