Re: Design questions

When you get a connection you're gonna need to save some information about it, for example, what the client requested, so you can put the espconn pointer into that structure as well. Basically you're going to need a struct of your own per connection and point to the espconn from that. In the espconn...

valid states for calling espconn_disconnect

Is it valid and safe to call espconn_disconnect(): ⋅ after calling espconn_connect and before espconn_connect_callback is received? ⋅ after calling espconn_sent and before espconn_sent_callback is received? Also, after calling espconn_disconnect() will I get a espconn_disconnect_...

Re: Anyway to speed up the boot up time

I understand that the calibration happens in the background. I'm wondering about the need to calibrate at boot. How do you recommend I decide whether calibration is needed at boot? If you tell me that normally recalibration happens every 60 seconds and my module goes into deep sleep for 1 second the...

Re: Anyway to speed up the boot up time

How often is the RF module recalibrated if the module stays powered-on permanently?

I think you're right. I had some trouble following all the twists and turns of your post ;-)

Re: Cannot connect to APs with password + CCMP

I'd recommend you use the os_timer functionality to call your get_status function repeatedly, something like static ETSTimer statusTimer; os_timer_disarm(&statusTimer); os_timer_setfn(&statusTimer, get_status, NULL); os_timer_arm(&statusTimer, 1000, 1); Faye, the code is: #include "...

Re: How to send data over a TCP connection ...

sorry to say, but you're pretty far off. after espconn_sent you need to wait for a callback that tells you that the buffer got sent. There are two flavors of callbacks depending on whether you asked the SDK to buffer or not. And you can't send that much at a time, I believe the send buffer is 2600 b...

Re: Wake-up from light sleep mode

Thanks for the UART education :-), but I can't use DTR/CSR or RTS/CTS because the esp8266 won't wake up from light sleep to those. I could use such signals on the far end and a GPIO pin to wake up. But now I'm using 4 pins for serial comm instead of 2. It's not like the esp8266 has an over-abundance...
