Re: Disable echo on UART0

Okay, most of these issues were because of the code in uart.c, which I believed to be a simple classic UART drive, actually implemented some processing of the bytes like reprinting them. I simply removed most of the code in this file to write my own driver. (https://bbs.espressif.com/viewtopic.php?...

Measuring Battery Life

Hi everyone, I am using the Wemos D1 Mini Pro. I just want to reach out and make sure I'm going down the correct path by setting my 107th byte in my init.bin and also I call system_get_vdd33 to get an arbitrary value depending on my battery correct? The batter will be connected to pin 3v3 and gnd. h...

Re: SPI Erase Sector OTA

You can only write zeros (0) into a flash memory. If you need to put a one (1) into a bit that was zero before, you have to erase the whole block and after that zero out the bits that need to be zero. Erasing is a totally different from writing. That is the short summary of how all flash memories w...

Re: SPI Erase Sector OTA

That is for technical reasons. In flash memory only zeros can be written as single bits. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_memory#Block_erasure Thank you for your input, I am not sure if that is the answer to my question. AS I am looping through the total amount of firmware data, Why is erase eve...

SPI Erase Sector OTA

Hi everyone, Does anyone know what SPI Erase sector actually do to the SPI rom. It seems if I overwrite the sector's with my OTA firmware it does not work unless I call to erase it first. Shouldn't overwriting the data with other data have the same effect or does Erase set some sort of flag behind t...

Re: PWM glitches and bad frequency

Are you writing custom firmware from NONOS SDK or using that ATfirmware portion?

Creating a Blocking Thread on espconn_gethostbyname

Anyone know of a useful way to make the command espconn_gethostbyname a blocking thread. I've tried using a while loop on a Global Bool var but no dice. Does anyone have a workaround?

Re: dev 1153 ?

TCP?
Im pretty sure the MTU of the esp is like 1460 or so.. Normal PC's are 1500..
What protocol are you using? If it's TCP it may be easyer to split the load and do a WatchDog Soft timer feed to let it breath?
