DNS Fail - CIPSTART
DNS Fail - CIPSTART
Postby sphudson » Wed Aug 17, 2016 12:36 pm
Hello,
I am getting a "DNS Fail" response after issuing a CIPSTART.
Below is our FW info:
AT+GMR
AT version:0.60.0.0(Jan 29 2016 15:10:17)
SDK version:1.5.2(80914727)
compile time:Jan 29 2016 19:07:08
I am following the correct syntax for the AT commands. I noticed that other people recently have experienced this same issue. Can you please give me/us an update?
Thanks!

Update: This problem has been resolved. Just FYI for those who experience the same issue, I realized there is a newer version of the SDK available which fixes DNS issues. I used the ESP8266 DOWNLOAD TOOL V3.3.6 running on Windows:
0x000000 - 2.0.0\ESP8266_NONOS_SDK\bin\boot_v1.6.bin
0x001000 - 2.0.0\ESP8266_NONOS_SDK\bin\at\512+512\user1.1024.new.2.bin
0x07E000 - 2.0.0\ESP8266_NONOS_SDK\bin\blank.bin
0x3FE000 - 2.0.0\ESP8266_NONOS_SDK\bin\blank.bin
0x3FC000 - 2.0.0\ESP8266_NONOS_SDK\bin\esp_init_data_default.bin
We are using a 32Mbit flash (W25Q32FV) from Winbond. Set the FLASH SIZE button to 32Mbit.

Thanks for the information!
I will forward this to the engineers working on the SDK.
