Hi,

Sorry, ESP8266 IOT Ref Compatible board has already been replaced by ESP-LAUNCHER.

Below is the descriptions of ESP8266 IOT Ref Compatible board which you can refer to.

20160509.jpg

1、External power supply: 5V, 1A, positive in, negative out.
2、External 5V power supply split through 3 LDO for ESP8266: PA, LNA and IO. Blue variable resistor can be used to adjust the value of the three power supplies. Please make sure the supply voltage is within the specified range.
3、Reset button connected to EXT_RSTB, for external reset. Toggle switch is connected to the chip enable, please pay attention to maintaining a high (switch down) when used.
4、Users can either use the RS-232 serial port or USB to UART converter board for download, print log and serial communication.
5、When connected to a typical external SMA antenna, RF performance tests can be done using cable lines connected to the test instrument.
6、MTDO, GPIO0, GPIO2 form a 3-bit selectable SDIO mode. Please refer to board markings for jumper info. Confirm power mode settings are correct by printing log.

7、This board has 2 SPI flash: flash1 and flash2 are used as storage for firmware application development. Flash can be selected via jumper, CS high (H) to disable the flash.
Flash1: Use SPI connection, mostly used for standalone mode.
Flash2: Use HSPI connection (multiplexing GPIO port). Mainly used in the case that SDIO (SPI) of ESP8266EX has been connected to host cpu as SDIO/SPI slave, GPIO port multiplexing with HSPI to connect to flash.

More questions, please feel free to let us know.

Thanks.

Hi Espressif:

There is one question about setting the download mode of the IoT_Ref Compatible Board. from the below pictures highlighted by different colors. Each highlight block
with three dip pins. How to realize the download mode by connecting these pins?
Should I connect them to VDD ? GND ? . What's your suggestion way of doing ?
By the way, Can you list the procedures of using the flash download tools that can download the binary files from the pc to board ? Although official site provides different versions of board flows, I still needs to confirm the older version board setting is correct and the procedures are right!!

Thanks you .

Hi,

When you short up two lines of this connector, it means this GPIO will be pulled down to ground.
When you short bottom two lines of this connector, it means this GPIO will be pulled up to vdd.
Current settings in your board is flash boot mode.
MTDO->low
GPIO0->high
GPIO2->high

If you need to get into uart download mode, you have to switch GPIO0 to low, which means you have to short up two lines of GPIO0.

After that, you need connect your board to PC through serial line and then power on this board.

You can use our official flash download tool which can be obtained in the following link.

viewtopic.php?f=57&t=433

After download sucessfully, you can switch GPIO0 back to high and then restart this board.

More questions, please feel free to let us know.

Thanks.

I did not know what's the problems that can not be downloaded, why this file can not be found ? in the directory. I am really confusing.

Hi,

The bin that you added in flash download tool is not right. The directory should be as shown below and format of firmware should be .bin, not bin_rep.

D:\VM\share\ESP8266_NONOS_SDK_V1.5.3_16_04_18\ESP8266_NONOS_SDK\bin\at\512+512

Please try again.

Thanks.

Hi Espressif :

I can download the binary file after changing the settings of my computer.

I have one problem of employing the serial port debug tools. I employ flash download tool v2.4 for downloading the binary

files from the pc to IoT Ref Compatible Board. But I do not know where I can download this debug tools for monitoring my

download process. Can you show me where to download this tool and how to use?
