Disable receive circuit on demand

Hello,

I posted this in a reply in an other thread but since I believe that it might be a useful feature to activate/deactivate on demand the rx circuit I creating a new topic to discuss it.

So, my question is if there is any way to disable reception circuit so as to achieve less than ~56mA power consumption when idle in station mode.
