32Khz crystal

Postby jonsmirl » Mon Nov 24, 2014 10:11 am

The datasheet mentions using a 32Khz crystal, but no example is given of how to hook it up. Is this supported? How does it work?

Dear Sir,

I haven't found the relevant descriptions of 32kHz crystal in our ESP8266 datasheet yet.

would you please figure it out in the datasheet that you refer to?

Thanks.

8.4.3 Real Time Clock IO (EXT_LFC)
If a 32.768 kHz LFC clock is available, it can be connected to EXT_LFC. If no clock is
available on this pin, the internal LFC will be used. If an EXT_LFC is available, the selection of
LFC source, internal LFC or EXT_LFC can be done by a strapping pin.

---

There is no mention which pin is EXT_LFC

I am assuming this is done to reduce power consumption during deep sleep. Is that correct?

Has any work been done with running the ESP8266 on a battery?

Dear Sir,

In our Chinese version of ESP8266 datasheet, we have already removed this part, because we do not support this now.

We will update the English Version of ESP8266 datasheet ASAP.

So sorry for our mistakes that make you confused.
