Module start on low efficient power source

Module start on low efficient power source

Our application have to use low efficient power source which is enough for working excluding start of the module.
After the start we see on the oscilloscope for about 35ms increased use of power. We assume that this is the calibration of the modem.
Is it possible to insert delays between the calibration steps to reduce the average power consumption during startup of the module?
