WiFi scanning active or passive?

When running wifi_station_scan() is this active or passive WiFi scanning?

And how does the config parameter show_hidden affect this?

Here is an example of wifi_station_scan() http://bbs.espressif.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=229

"show_hidden" to be 1 , means ESP8266 will find APs even if their SSID is hidden. Otherwise, you won't get them in scan-done-callback.

Hi,

The WiFi passive scan has been added in the ESP8266 non OS SDK https://github.com/espressif/ESP8266_NONOS_SDK.

And we will add it into the future ESP8266 RTOS SDK release too.
