Flash Download Tool 3.4.9 does not start on Windows

Greetings!

I want to update the AT version on my ESP01 from 1.1.0.0 to 2.1.0 so I can change the baud rate of the board. I downloaded the Flash Download Tool, 3.4.9, and attempted to start it. Having used a previous version, I was looking for the UI to appear. Instead, the console displays a lot of text and a couple of errors.

The console starts with "wxPyDeprecationWarning: Using deprecated class PySimpleApp.

After selecting the ESP8266 Download Tool button, the last line in the console reads:

File "main.py", line 72, in ShowDownLoadToolEsp8266 with some indication that it could not connect to my powered ESP01.

Thoughts?

UPDATE ON THIS QUESTION

The command
AT+UART_CUR?

responds with ERROR (ver 1.1.0.0). This left me with the impression that AT+UART_CUR was not a part of the AT command set in that version. My mistake.

When I use this command
AT+UART_CUR=9600,8,1,0,0

the baud rate was changed and remained so while the power was on.

I still wonder about the Flash Download Tool - any ideas?

i think i meet the same problem with you
the terminal window just show wx._core.PyAssertionError
if your problem have been resolved, could you please tell me how to fix it

i am new comer for esp8266, and i can just get the tool in 3.4.9
if you have the older version for 8266, could you share to me?

Not sure if it can help..
