Fail to link sdk IoT example -- missing ets_memcpy, and other ets_ funtions

In trying to build the IoT example I fail to find several of the ets_mem functions...
what library are these instantiated/defined in? I have searched the symbol tables of the libs that were built in my tools chain, and can't seem to them..

here is some of the errors in the build:

Please use "os_memcpy" and "os_memset" instead.
