thanks for taking the time to reply.

In my case, the crashing of ESP when client closes connection is a minor issue and can be tolerated and overcome by forcing the server
to close it first.

On the other hand, I really need the server to do proper client authentication. Otherwise there's no point in using SSL...

I see. I guess if you're authenticating the client you have some control over its behaviour. (I still wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that any sudden loss of the client, even an involuntary one, would crash the server. But then again, I don't know your scenario.)

Anyway, I think we've accumulated quite a few good questions for Espressif's engineers. I really hope someone will look at them.

PS: I've renamed the topic since it's not just about an obscure error message anymore.
