Development and troubleshooting for ESP8266 with open-source tools just got a lot easier. Thanks to the ESP-GDBStub project our application can be debugged live on the device.

I made a post about using Eclipse IDE with Arduino libraries here http://www.esp8266.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7889
You can adapt this for RTOS SDK etc.
