GPIO16 change direction upon deep_sleep(0) command

Hello,
my goal is to put my esp-03 into deep sleep by using the deep_sleep(0) command without defining a RTC timeout.
My second goal is to use GPIO16 as an INPUT.

Apparently as soon as I enter deep sleep, GPIO16 goes back to its default configuration which is OUTPUT, and the default value seems to be 3.3V.

I understand that it is normal that GPIO16 goes back to OUTPUT, but is it possible to choose the state of the output?
