libwpa api

I am wishing to check if there is any API for working with wifi management probes.

i think i can 'see' some ieee80211_send_mgt in libwpa...

the docs (in the sniffer section) seem to allow decoding of incoming probes

is there any more info or examples on what the ieee80211_* works ?
