【Feedback】Setting regulatory domain/country/enabled Wi-Fi channels

The Wi-Fi channels we can use in each country is different.

How do we change the regulatory domain in ESP8266?
If there isn't a way, I'm thinking of a work around to call

11-14 times depending on the country the client is in, do you think this'll work?

start a active scan or a passive scan?

My understanding is that active scanning for Wi-Fi APs radiates electric waves, so we have to stop scanning for channels 12-14 in USA, but there might be APs on channel 12-14 in Japan.

your understand is correct. and you can set the special channel in "wifi_station_scan" as a work around

I would like to see Espressif provide a way of changing the country and enabled channels in the RF configuration so that it would work with either SDK or AT commands. We have products based on both SDK (NONOS) and the AT commands and we would like to support our target markets and also with more clarity than just scanning the right channels (with SDK).

Clarity would be improved - maybe even compliance - by changing the regulatory domain to match the target market and match the way the channels are being used.

Note, for example, on Apple OS X, Wireless Diagnostics -> Window -> Scan, country is one of the fields shown, and our product always shows CN for this field.

Btw, it also shows protocol as 802.11b/g but I would expect that to read 802.11b/g/n.

Can you comment on this suggestion?
