NONOS_SDK 1.5.4.1 Patch causing fatal errors

Dear Espressif,
After applying the 1.5.4.1 patch files to my stable 1.5.4 code base, upon flashing my eagle.flash.bin and eagle.irom0text.bin, my ESP8266 module (ESP-12 or ESP-12F) goes berserk and the blue led keeps flashing continuously. Using putty, I see that some fatal exception kept occurring.
I have followed the instructions mentioned in patch notes by flashing blank.bin to 0x7e000, then esp_init_data_default.bin to 0x7c000. I replaced the lib.a's, added the sample code in user_main.c to my application's user_main.c and loaded my application (eagle.flash.bin -> 0x00000 and eagle.irom0text.bin -> 0x40000. My flash map is 0.
If I go back to program the application binaries from my 1.5.4 codebase, my applications starts as per normal.
Have you seen a similar issue?
Thank you.

Hi Rubin,
Sorry for the extremely late reply, thanks for your comment. Honestly haven't gone back to try this out. I think I'll try it on the new 2.1.0 version and see if I have the same issue.
Thanks!
