ESP8266 connects to wifi even though it is not part of the code

Hi,

i worked on a project before in which i used the wifi functionality but now i want to focus more on peripherals. I noticed, that the esp8266 still tries to connect to my local wifi even though it is not part of my code anymore! How can i stop that?
