SPI / UART and DMA

There is no documentation on this yet but does the ESP8266 have any DMA capability to be used with SPI or UART? Failing that, is there another recommended way of improving the serial throughput?

I am successfully running the UART at 3M BAUD but cannot send more than 0x100 characters to the ESPS8266 without inserting a significant pause between chunks.
