How to achieve the "Shut down" / "power off" Power Mode

Postby berlese » Thu Aug 29, 2019 2:36 am

Hello everyone! =]

I'm trying to achieve a very low current consumption with the ESP8266 (~1uA or less).

And in the datasheet we have the follow description:

So... My question is:
How can I achieve "Power off" mode, at the bottom of the table (some times called "shut down" mode)?

That's interesting, It almost seems like if you do that, you'll need to wake it by an external rst pin reset because my bets are that the interal RTC/Ticks would not be active and the chip would be unable to reawake on its own as it does in deep sleep. If you find out more on this idea come back and post here :) (I will too)

I am also looking for a way to achieve power down mode (current < 0.5uA).
I try to set CHIP_EN pin to low but I got high current consumption.
The specification state that there is a power down mode for 0.5uA but no further description about this mode in the specification.
