Cloud Update with esp_iot_rtos_sdk

Is it possible to extend the esp_iot_rtos_sdk to have api functionality to do cloud update? The SDK programming guide (although I don't believe it applies to the rtos sdk) indicates there are calls for system_upgrade_userbin_check(), system_upgrade_start(), and system_upgrade_reboot(), as well as the upgrade_server_info struct. Are there any plans to implement a similar updating technique in the rtos sdk?
