Make talk two ESP8266 to each other

Hello,
I'm trying to communicate two ESP8266 chips :D . I want to setup one ESP as a Client(STATION) and another one as Server(AP) and Client sends "Hello ESP" message to Server and server should respond to that message as "Hello". I had gone through the Non-OS SDK APIs reference but I didn't understand that :( . So, can anyone please provide me the code for Client and Server ESP.

Ashok or anyone else, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that what the ESP-NOW api is for?
