I am using the ESP8266 as a DHCP server. It works great. But in the DHCPOFFER it sends an option that I do not understand.
The option is added by this line in dhcpserver.c https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/blob/master/components/lwip/apps/dhcpserver.c#L387
It is 43, 6, 0x01, 4, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x02
According to RFC2132 this is a Vendor Specific Information option, containing an encapsulated option 0x01 with data 00 00 00 02
Please can you explain to me why this option is sent, and how to interpret it?
To understand a Vendor Specific Information, there should be an Option 60 (VCI) option to identify the vendor - but there is no option 60 in the packet.
