ESP8266 Mesh Network
ESP8266 Mesh Network
Postby hp26 » Sat Oct 15, 2016 10:03 pm
Hi,
I want to know if it is possible to create a mesh network with multiple esp8266 modules(esp-01). If so , is there any guide/example to get started with the mesh networking using esp8266.
Reagrds.

I think that the ESP8266 modules are simply the wrong hardware for that.
They are meant to be used in an environment, where you have an existing WiFi network and mains supply.
A mesh network makes sense for battery powered or energy harvesting small nodes, that transmit only small amounts of data,
where no infrastructure exists.(e.g. outdoors).
For this you'd need energy efficient micros and low power rf, like Zigbee, or BTLE.

It can do by obtaining multiple ESP8266 modules interface among them, a custom composition like a sort of combination of mesh and star in order to make ESP modules talk each other but in completely various networks here.

Mesh Networks are wi-fi networks with routing talents. Each tool in a mesh network is referred to as a node and it is able to set up wireless links connecting it to multiple different nodes in the network.

Mesh Network is a great network to use I feel so grateful to be part of this forum, whatever problem I contain I do share here every bit of information here, which I usually see and discuss always contains something new to learn which is kind of an epic thing to have.
