Hi,

The maximum station connections in softAP is 4, but mesh support multi-hops communication,
So, one mesh supports up to 83 nodes. I think it is enough for you.

We have released mesh demo on github, please clone current code:

Maybe you could try our mesh in esp_iot_sdk_v1.4.0.
