I am new to ESP8266 (but not a noob
). I have gone through several posts and blogs and I have concluded that ESP8266 does not support monitor mode however it does support promiscuous mode but in the latest SDK, it does not allow us to see MAC and IP address of the captured packets.I just want to confirm my findings that have I reached the correct conclusion?
if I am wrong, is it possible to get the MAC address of nearby WiFi clients WITHOUT associating to any AP? in principle going into monitor mode?
