GPIO Maximum current Imax
GPIO Maximum current Imax
Postby GeoNomad » Sat Jan 17, 2015 5:42 am
I see in the spec that it says:
Maximum Drive Capacity Imax 12 mA.
Is that the same whether source or sink?
Is that per pin, or for all pins total?
If per pin, what is the maximum for all GPIO pins together, as I doubt it is as much as 16 x 12 mA.
Thanks,
Peter

Dear Sir,
1.12mA here refers to the source current and sink current is greater than 12mA.
2.12mA is for per pin and each pin is the same.
3. Drive capacity current of all GPIO pins total can be 16 x 12 mA.
Thanks for your interests in ESP8266EX!

Dear Sir,
The sink current of GPIO is about 20mA.
Thanks.
The sink current of GPIO is about 20mA.
Thanks.

Hi danny8376,
The maximum source current of GPIO is about 12mA.
Thanks.

Here's what I found about the maximum current on ESP8266 development board:
I've been working with Arduino too (projects to hire writer and dev based on my own experience and logic), but nothing specific on raspberrypi forum.
ESP8266 operating current average value = 80mA
Maximal output current from one GPIO pin is 12mA
Total current for ESP8266 chip is sum of operating and GPIOs currents
