ESP-WROOM-02 module access failed

Postby ritesh » Fri Nov 20, 2015 1:39 pm

I am newbie for ESP-WROOM-02 Module and started to develop ESP-WROOM-02 on Breadboard.

I have connected my ESP-WROOM-02 Module on Breadboard and also connected FTDI based USB 2 UART cable with RX, TX and GND pin as per pin configuration described in ESP-WROOM-02 Module. I have also applied 3.3 V from my USB 2 UART module and cross checked Pin 1 (3.3V), Pin 2 (Chip Enable) which are high.

After that, I have tried to download AT firmware on my ESP-WROOM-02 (32MBit SPI Flash) module as per desribed in AT firmware document.

I have kept MTDO: 0, GPIO0: 0, GPIO2: 1 to download firmware using Flash Download Tool v2.4.

But, I am getting "chip sync error" after "Connecting..." log while starting to download AT firmware.
It seems like i am not able to access my Wifi Module. correct?

Please let me know if anyone has idea about this type of issue or any clue to solve this type of issue.

Hi,

"chip sync error" means that the ESP8266 fails to communicate with the Flash Download Tool through UART.

Please check your UART RX.

Thanks for your interest in ESP8266 !

Hi,

Thanks for Reply and sorry for late reply from myside.

You are correct as issue was due to UART connection which was not proper at that time.

Now, I am able to download any firmware into ESP-WROOM-02 module with firmware download settings without any issue.
