I've been having some issues with boards and recently discovered an issue with the SDK 1.5.4 and RBOOT... that is covered elsewhere.
In the process I've had more than one board ending up booting (at 78k) with a parameter area issue.
In an ESP12 that is typically right at the top of the 4 Meg. Using various tools I've tried to wipe 4 * 1 meg and always hit a problem wiping the top 1 meg - or part of it.
It just occurred to me that presumably there is a write protect at that top system parameter area stopping me doing a clean wipe.
I tried using the ERASE function on the ESPTOOL and while that say ok I still have the problem.
Is there a special flag I need to use with ESPTOOL to include wiping that (possibly) write protected system parameter area to get an absolutely clean 4MB FLASH??
I have one board I simply cannot now get to work properly and I suspect this has something to do with it?
Pete.
