SSL passthrough transmission V1.7

Postby disegni » Wed Feb 13, 2019 7:02 pm

Hello, I have a question related to SSL passthrough transmission with the new AT command firmware V. 1.7. It stems from reading the manual where I see an apparent contradiction in what is stated in these two paragraphs:

ESP8266 AT Instruction Set (Version 3.0)

5.2.3. AT+CIPSTART—Establishes TCP Connection, UDP Transmission or SSL Connection (P. 43 - Notes)

SSL connection does not support UART-Wi-Fi passthrough mode (transparent transmission).

5.2.5. AT+CIPSSLCCONF - Sets Configuration of ESP SSL Client (P. 44 - notes)

"This configuration will be saved in the flash user parameter area. If an UART-SSL passthrough transmission is set by command AT+SAVETRANSLINK, the SSL connection will follow the previous AT+CIPSSLCCONF setting."

So is SSL passthrough transmission supported or not?

Thank you for your kind reply.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting, we have revised the doc.
ESP8266 AT does not support UART-SSL passthrough mode, but the ESP32 does.

Thanks.
