Ping ESP from server

How can I ping ESP devices from server perspective? I have server with IP 192.168.0.1 and root node with IP 192.168.0.2, rest of non-root nodes has IP like: x.255.255.y. Is is possible to ping non-root devices?

Hello,
You will have to route the request through to the devices you want to ping. You should use a network modeling software such as the Cisco Packet Tracer to model networks like this before actually implementing them. That way it is easier to verify what you intend to do, try it!

With all my respect to you and your work and my best wishes, and without any intention to be rude, I doubt your answer is of any help at all.
If I ever get to the expertise level that is really needed to manage code easily inside non-os, rtos, mesh, etc for esp8266 (a level you have, I'm sure of that), I will try to answer with the necessary code or instructions to perform the tasks the forum users ask to perform.
Best wishes again

I still don't know answer to my question but I have little bit more information. ESP MESH network is oriented on MAC address not on IP address. Maybe it is better to ask about ping esp devise on its MAC not IP.

You can't ping any non-root device, but you can access every non-root device using the packet with format of mesh.
