Deep Sleep GPIO Pins Wake Up

Postby cesar.guevara » Fri Nov 11, 2016 6:05 am

Hi,

Is it possible to use a GPIO to wake up ESp8266 from Deep Sleep instead of pull down-up the RESET line?

Sorry, you must cycle the RST pin to reboot the ESP8266 into normal mode.
However, if you are using the ESP8266 SDK for your application, if you want to resume some activity or if you want to detect the restart was because of deep-sleep wakeup, you may use the reset cause API and also store data in the RTC memory (it is retained when the chip is in deep sleep and wakes up via reset).
If you are using the AT firmware, you may not have much choice.
