NON-OS SDK: build with -ffunction-sections

This is a feature request for future NON-OS SDK releases: please provide binary libraries compiled with `-ffunction-sections`, like is already the case for RTOS SDK. this will help reduce the size of the binary when used in conjunction with `--gc-sections`at link stage.
Again - this is something already being done for RTOS SDK, just please do it for non-OS as well.
