Set / Restrict Wifi Rates

In softAP mode, is there any way to set or restrict the WiFi rates? I would like to keep the AP set to 20Mbps rather than varying. It would be very helpful to have an API for restricting allowed rates.

Just to add a little more context, it is very common practice in access point administration to restrict the rates at which the access point will negotiate to in order to prevent the rate from dropping in response to temporary bursts of noise. I am also seeing dropped connections or periods of dropped packets when the Espressif Soft AP drops its rate down to 2 or 1 Mbps.
