Hello,

What IDE do you currently use when programming any ESP chips?

You can use the Lubuntu image provided by Espressif (Linux). I installed Atom or Visual Studio Code for my coding. Helps to have good code prediction!
Other than that you can set up VS Community Edition in Windows + SysProgs ESP8266 toolchain. That works pretty well too.
