[Resolved]ESP-01 ESP8266 - Not responding after random time - AT 0.21

Postby hexor » Thu Aug 20, 2015 7:57 pm

Hi my friends,

I have some problems with my ESP01 board...

Sometine it work very well and after a random time (1 day, 2 day, 10 minutes, 1 hour...), the esp01 stop working, it not responding to the AT commands sent by the arduino. If I plug directly the esp on an FTDI USB SERIAL converter: same thing, no response from the esp. (The blue led don't turn ON when I send command, so it's not normal).

The alimentation is correct (and as I say, it can work very well during 1 day).
The AT comand version is :

Code: Select all

AT+GMR
AT version:0.21.0.0
SDK version:0.9.5

OK

When I turn on the power supply, the esp send weird caracter to the serial monitor, and after, no more data.
The only thing to do is to upload again the firmware, and all is working for.... a randomly time.

(I have test on 3 esp-01 and the 3 have the problem)
Have you got some solutions please ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi,

Maybe it enters the UART-WiFi passthrough mode?

You could try to send "+++" through UART, and then try other AT commands.

Please notice that if input +++ directly by keyboard, may not be continually, suggest using tool as below:

Hi,

I have try to send "+++" but it do nothing, no blue led blinking, no answer from the ESP.
I have try to send an AT command, after sending "+++", but it doesn't work :(

Perheaps the problem is due to a bad programming.
What I must put in "flash size" parameter ? How I can see my actual flash size ?

Thanks.

EDIT:
This is my actual settings for flashing ESP01 with SDK V0.9.5:

prog2.JPG

EDIT 2 :

I have now flashed with the "flash download tool", because I see that I have put "8Mb" flahs size into "nodemcu ..." and when I flash with your software and "spi auto detect" the size is 4Mb.
So I have flashed with flash download tool and "spi auto detect" --> perheaps it will resolve my problem of freeze :D

You can try Flash size 4Mbit,and download blank.bin into 0x3e000. eagle.flash.bin ---> 0x00000,eagle.irom0text.bin ---> 0x40000

Hi,

Please use the Espressif Official Flash download tool.

If your problem is still unsolved, please provide the capture picture of the ESP Flash download tool while downloading.

Thanks for your interest in ESP8266 !

I had the same problem.

It is solved since May/June. I had also a "special" version of the AT firmware.

Now, with the official version (I am still using the 0.30 version) the ESP8266 works like expected. If possible you should use a newer version, not the one from xmas 2014.

I still test, but for the moment no problem with "AT_v0.50_on_esp_iot_sdk_v1.4.0_150918" !! :D
(Tested with 512Ko of flash and 1Mo)
